2026 IEEE INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON

Metrology for Industry4.0&IoT

JUNE 10-12, 2026 · ROME, ITALY

Authors of accepted and presented papers will have the opportunity to submit an extended version of their work to the journal Measurement: Sensors for consideration in the Special Issue entitled "Smart Measurement Systems and Advanced Sensing Technologies for Industry 4.0 and Beyond".

The extended manuscripts will be subject to the journal's standard peer-review process and must present significant additional content with respect to the conference paper, in accordance with the journal's submission guidelines.

ABOUT THE SPECIAL ISSUE

This Special Issue collects extended and rigorously enhanced contributions from IEEE MetroInd4.0 & IoT 2026, together with selected high-impact external papers, focusing on smart measurement systems and advanced sensing technologies for Industry 4.0 and beyond. The scope spans sensing materials and transduction mechanisms, multimodal and hybrid measurement approaches, uncertainty quantification, and sensor integration into flexible and additively manufactured platforms. Particular emphasis is placed on intelligent measurement systems enabled by IoT connectivity, edge computing, and AI-assisted data processing. By bridging metrology, materials engineering, and data intelligence, the Special Issue aims to advance traceable, reliable, and interoperable sensing solutions across industrial, biomedical, and environmental applications.
